Here is a specific way to add training or inductions for when you have a SCORM file. These are a special type of file created for online training that have all the content and questions all combined in a single zip file.

Adding Induction or Training using a SCORM file. 

Objective

To provide a clear, step-by-step guide for team members to effectively upload and assign SCORM files for training purposes, ensuring minimal misunderstandings and errors while maximising productivity and accuracy.

Key Steps

  1. Access the Learning Module:

    • Navigate to the Learning section.

    • Select Inductions.

    • Click on Add New.

  2. Upload SCORM File:

    • When prompted, confirm that you have a SCORM file.

    • Drag and drop the SCORM file into the designated area or click Upload to select the file from your computer.

  3. Select and Configure the Training:

    • Once the upload is complete, select the uploaded SCORM file from the list.

    • Review the content by using the available options to read or listen to it.

    • Change the default name by removing any unnecessary parts (e.g., delete “.zip”).

    • Rename it appropriately (e.g., Diversity Inclusion Training).

    • Set the Induction as Mandatory if required.

    • Choose Training to enable assignment capabilities.

    • Specify the frequency of completion (e.g., every 3 years).

    • Indicate who the induction will be available to by selecting the appropriate option.

  4. Save the Training:

    • Click Save to finalise the setup.

  5. Assign Training to Users:

    • Navigate to Training Packages to verify that the training appears (e.g., Diversity and Inclusion Training).

    • Select Assign Training to Users or Assign Training to Users in their Groups.

    • Choose the relevant group (e.g., Supervisors).

    • Set a completion deadline (e.g., 21 days).

    • Users will receive an email notification regarding the new assignment.

  6. Monitor Completion:

    • Check that the training appears in users' accounts upon their next login.

    • Overdue notifications are activated if the training is not completed within the specified timeframe.

  • Double-check the training frequency and assignment settings to avoid unnecessary confusion among users.

  • Be aware of any company-specific policies regarding training assignments and completion.
