Simplifying Asset Register Issue Reporting Process
Scenario Description
Someone reports an issue on an asset (e.g., cracked windscreen on a Ford Ranger).
Pre-start information is filled in, fault identified, and reported to the supervisor.
Next day, a different person does the prestart and notes the same fault, resulting in 2 issues being created for the single damaged windscreen.
We have made some updates to improve this.
Issue Reporting Process
Fault identified (e.g., cracked windscreen) in the pre-start.
Fault reported to supervisor with details (e.g., safety hazard, no immediate repair required).
Submission of the report triggers a warning for maintenance, with an issue created against the plant owner.

Solution Implemented
An "existing issues" box has been added to the pre-start form.
When users report an issue during pre-start checks, existing issues will be displayed. Note this section will only be shown if there are active issues on the piece of plant.
Users can see if an issue has already been reported and avoid creating duplicate entries.
